SFFS: Snippet of “Aislyn and the Space Pirates”

Science Fiction & Fantasy Saturday

Welcome back to another Science Fiction Fantasy Saturday! ConQuest was a lot of fun. I shared a dealer’s table with our very own T. M. Hunter throughout the weekend to sell our books, and I sat on half a dozen panels discussing a number of topics, including writing-related stuff. If you get a chance to go, I highly recommend it.

Today’s excerpt continues from my last post from two weeks ago. When last we left our heroes, Aislyn and Marcus were discussing options on how to deal with the ultimatum just presented to them from the other ship, and they have sixty seconds in which to make a decision.

And now, here is this week’s snippet. Enjoy!

Oscar interrupted her thoughts. “Ten seconds, Aislyn.”
She shook her head. “Ah, f*** it!” She gripped the wheel and shoved the accelerator to maximum. “Hang on!”

Yes, I know it was short. Sorry about that. But, continuing would cut into the next section that would fit perfectly into the next post.

Thank you for taking the time to read my snippet! Please take another moment to leave a comment with your thoughts and feedback. To read the SFFSaturday contributions from other authors, please click here.

  1. Sounds like she’s not in a very cooperative mood.

  2. Peter Vialls says:

Short and sweet – and a strong indication that we’re about to dive headfirst into action. Looking forward to next week!

  3. T. M. Hunter says:

I was also going to say short, but sweet, but Peter beat me to it.

  4. S.A. Check says:

I wonder how many decisions are foreshadowed by uttering those same words. Aislyn leads by her nose, one of her more admirable traits.

  5. JC Cassels says:

Hah!! I knew it! Good for her to gun it and run.
